Gender budgeting: Renuka loses out

Great News for Renuka Lovers. She had enough time to promote and fund for : "Do not trust men, trust condom" or ask women to Join "PUB Bhoro campain" , but have little time to do the Job asigned to her. Still we common people fooled and never wake up.

Women and Child Welfare Minister Renuka Chowdhury may be the government's face when it comes to women issues, but she fares poorly in spending money meant for them.

Her Cabinet colleagues have done better on account of gender budgeting, according to the numbers in the interim budget, unveiled on Monday.

While overall spending on fully women-centric programmes is estimated to total Rs 14,875 crore in 2008-09, about 30 per cent more than what was budgeted, the women and child welfare ministry is expected to spend about half the money that was allocated for the year. This year, the ministry is expected to spend only Rs 267 crore of the Rs 466.50 crore that was earmarked for fully women-focused schemes.

What is worrying is that the Swamyamsiddha scheme is expected to use only a quarter, or Rs 50 crore, of the Rs 200 crore that was budgeted for it. The scheme funds and aids women self-help groups and entrepreneurs. "Under its second phase, a countrywide programme covering all blocks was to be launched," said Yamini Mishra of the Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability.

Ministry officials were not available for comments.

The government's gender budget statement — an exercise that the women and child welfare ministry has been pushing for — shows that other ministries have done better. The social justice and empowerment ministry is expected to spend Rs 646.17 crore on women schemes, almost double the amount it was allocated.

Manufacturing news by sickular media

It’s no secret that Indian media is overzealous to prove itself secular, and goes overboard in reporting news that could show Hindu organizations in bad light. Not only that, they work overtime to show other organizations in good light.
Such ‘twists’ on stories are too common and an average Hindu is dished out such doctored news reports on a regular basis, and he/she is forced to believe that Hindu organizations are all gundas and criminals, while Muslims and Christians are helpless angels.
At this time, let me repeat that there are indeed helpless angels who are Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Atheist, etc. And there are criminal who are Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Atheist, etc. but when will our media learn it?
Indian secular media is on a mission to bolster stereotype against Hinduism. An unfortunate and criminal incident like rape of a woman belonging to a dalit caste is highlited as “Dalit woman raped by upper caste men”. Why don’t they write “Innocent Indian killed by terrorist Muslim”?
A rape in itself is a crime, and I demand capital punishment for rapists, whether the rapist is an upper caste man or anyone, I don't care. Also why should only rape by an upper caste man make news? If a dalit man rapes a dalit woman, that should not make news? But when will our media learn?
I’d share another example of media twisting a story. In January this year, all leading media houses carried a news – “temple purified by Brahmins after dalit minister visit”. The incident happened in Orissa.
You know the truth? The temple indeed was purified, but it was a regular purification ceremony that was always performed in that temple!
Do we all not clean our houses every day? Say each day we broom our house at 10 AM. One day at 9 AM one of our dalit friends comes to visit us. He leaves by 10 AM, and after seeing off our dalit friend, we take broom and clean our house. And viola! The media will say – “upper caste man cleans his house after dalit friend’s visit!”

There is no denying the fact that there are morons, idiots, and criminals who still treat so-called dalits as untouchables. They have to be educated about true essence of Hinduism. But media wants to eradicate that very essence of Hinduism by their doctored reports.
The sickular elements in the media use their own imagination and prejudices against Hinduism and manufacture false news. Those who are not so shameless, use words like ‘allegedly’ ‘reportedly’ ‘believed to be’ ‘suspected’ etc. and blame Hindu organizations for crimes they never committed.
We at ‘The SHIELD’ must speak up and not let the sickulars in media hijack Hinduism.

Good work by Sri Ram Sene

While Sri Ram Sene crossed the limits and did a horrible job by beating up women in the pub, they are doing something that would fight the biggest evil of Hinduism – the caste system. In some of the Hindu families, parents feel it ‘dishonorable’ to marry off their daughters to men of so-called lower castes. But thanks to Sri Ram Sene, this has been possible. Kudos to them for doing it and we hope they help more intercaste marriages to take place and remove this curse of casteism from the Hindu society.

Mangalore, Feb 16: A young man and woman from Udupi district got married under the supervision of Sri Rama Sena at Saravu Sri Mahaganapati temple, after the parents of both of them resented their decision and opposed the relationship.

21-year-old Shobith and Geetha of the same age, entered wedlock in a simple, traditional ceremony in the presence of Sri Rama Sena activists. Shobith belongs to scheduled caste, while the girl is from Vishwakarma community. Shobith is a resident of Paniyur and Geetha, from Mudarangadi in Udupi District.

"We love each other since the last two and half years", confessed the couple.

Shobith, a student from Udupi, is studying Bachelor of Computer Applications course, while Geetha works in a private firm.

"My parents are totally opposed to this marriage. When we approached my parents with the proposal, they registered a complaint against me in the police station. As a result, I was sent to remand home a few years back, “Geetha said.

Geetha lives in a hostel in Manipal, as she has been expelled from her home. Parents of both the lovers are strongly against this marriage, and Shobith's parents not only dissuaded him from marrying the girl, but also warned him to shelve his plan.

"We planned to marry on February 14 with the help of Sri Rama Sena, as per their call, but when we contacted them, their leaders were not available. So we decided to marry today," said Shobith.

"We had two options before us, either marrying each other or committing suicide, but Sri Rama Sena members gave us life," he added.

"Sri Rama Sena members have assured us of finding out suitable residence and jobs," said Geetha.

Sri Rama Sena members, who were present there, said that it was not a forcible marriage, and that the couple contacted them with a request to assist them to get married to each other.

Speak up and Fight

One of the most often used tools by sickulars to attack Hinduism is to put a question mark on the existence and definition of Hindus. Their agenda is to prove to that Hinduism is the religion of Brahmins only, and all other castes of Hinduism are slaves of Brahmins, who must liberate themselves i.e. leave Hinduism and convert to other religions or just transform into a vibrant Hindu hater.

This scam was started by Evangelists with the invention of Aryan Invasion Theory, which got some support in Tamilnadu, causing some people to actually believe that South Indians belonged to a different race than North Indians. Evangelists wanted them to believe that the Rakshas (devils) in Ramayan, whom Lord Rama fought to rescue his wife Sita, were actually inhabitants of Tamilnadu, termed as Dravidians. Ramayan was converted into a story, rather myth, of fight between Aryans and Dravidians.

Evangelists had the state machinery of the British government to support them and a team of committed missionaries to propagate the theory, and it sold like hot cakes. Some people in Tamilnadu even cheerfully accepted Lanka King Ravana as the Dravidian hero, blissfully forgetting that Ravana was referred to as a Brahmin in most of the ancient versions of Ramayana. So even if the Aryan Invasion Theory was correct, Ravana was an Aryan!

Anyway, the issue is not to find out whom Lord Rama fought in those times, but to find out what the enemy of Hinduism is upto. Here, it would be very helpful to understand how Evangelists succeeded in converting whole of Europe into Christianity.

The religions of pre-Christian Europe are termed as ‘paganism’ today. Technically, followers of all non-Abrahmic religions i.e. religions other than Judaism, Christianity and Islam, are referred to as Pagans or Heathens, and hence Hinduism is also a part of paganism. An Evangelist’s and Jehadi’s dream is to get rid of all Pagan and Heathen people from this world, and then sort out amongst themselves.

Europe was not Christian until after 300 years since Jesus first preached. Christian apostles kept preaching and propagating the religion in various part of Europe but Europeans followed Hellenistic religions, which was polytheistic as well as mystic and philosophical like Hinduism. Hellenistic religions had Greek and Roman gods and goddesses and there were other Celtic and Scandinavian gods that were worshiped in pre-Christian Europe.

The pre-Christian Europe gave rise to great thinkers like Socrates, Plato and Aristotle – the real trinity of the western world and the real reason of richness of the western philosophy.

Christianity was adopted as the official religion of Roman Empire by the emperor Constantine I in fourth century AD. Christian historians refer to him as “The Great” for this job, as the Roman Church became the most powerful establishment in Europe.

Once the Evangelists had political power, they started systematic persecution and subversion of Hellenistic religions. The people of Europe were made to feel ashamed to be following Hellenistic religions. They were demoralized and humiliated through the process of Christianization (check this Wikipedia entry to see how Christians destroyed temples and defiled statues of Pagan gods to demoralize and humiliate Pagans).

The Europeans, originally Pagans, were taught that Greek and Roman religions were all myths and that Europe didn’t have any religion or culture to be proud of. Evangelists told the European Pagans that Hellenistic gods, especially Roman gods, were just ruthless warriors who were killing fellow European Pagans. The sense of belonging and oneness among the Europeans was robbed. Christianity was offered as the only solution to redeem themselves after disowning their ‘shameful’ past.

Is it tough to see that Evangelists tried to do the same thing in India?

Can you now see why the sickulars work overtime to argue that Hinduism is all myth, just the same way Evangelists argued with Europeans about their original religions?

Can you now see why Ramayana is argued as a story where one set of Indian Pagans (North Indians) were killing another set of Indian Pagans (South Indians)?

Even for the sake of discussion, we admit that the Aryan Invasion Theory was correct, what difference does it make? Do Hindus have to live in past or in present?

If sickulars want some Hindus to leave Hinduism because Aryans came from abroad and brought Hinduism into India by force and persecution, they should also ask the European Christians to leave Christianity as Christianity definitely came from abroad (Mediterranean) and persecuted the indigenous faiths. Sickulars should also ask people in Iran to go back to Zoroastrianism and renounce Islam, because Islam too definitely came from abroad into Iran and persecuted the Persians.

The sickular agenda is to make the Hindus feel ashamed and demoralized about their own past, just as they did with European pagans. They had partial success in Tamilnadu, and now they are trying to do the same thing in northern India with dalits, trying to convince them to believe that they were never part of Hinduism by wrongly quoting and interpreting the Hindu texts.

The Hindu caste-system, which horribly went awry by transforming into a hierarchal structure, is doing no good to us, as the sickulars are using this inhuman and unhindu discrimination to brainwash the dalits. That’s why it’s important that we get rid of this decimation based on castes and one of the main missions of “The SHIELD” is to fight casteism.

The discrimination against dalits is a horrible and shameful truth, it exists even today. But who gave the rights to sickulars to blame it on Hindu texts? There are erudite scholars who claim and argue that the shlokas in Manusmriti have been misused and misinterpreted by a group of selfish people to discriminate against the dalits.

Again, for the sake of discussion, even if we admit that some shlokas in Manusmriti actually favor discrimination against lower castes, does it become a ‘must-do’ for a Hindu?

Hinduism is the only religion that allows people to logically debate and challenge an established norm with changing times – a tradition that allowed Adi Shakara to found the Vendata philosophy. What might be written in Manusmriti are not the final words of God as is believed to be in the case of Quran and Bible. If Hindus believe those shlokas to be discriminatory, they have every right to argue against it and discard it in favor of newer norms, no need for sickulars to preach.

Aren’t there dozens verses in Quran that call for killing people, subjugating women, trading slaves, and various other things that are absolutely no-no in the modern society? But when an Islamic scholar says that such verses have been wrongly interpreted by some selfish people, sickulars take note and listen, and even agree. But when a Hindu tries to argue that Manusmriti or Vedic shlokas were misinterpreted, he’s abused and told to shut up.

That’s why we at “The SHIELD” must not keep quiet and speak up against the vilification of Hinduism, and at the same fight a battle to eradicate vices like caste-based discrimination from Hindusim.

Our Mission

There are three main missions of “The SHIELD” –

To speak up against malicious vilification of Hinduism and Hindu culture, and to expose the coordinated attempts by sickulars (trinity of Evangelists, Jihadis and Communists) to project Hinduism as the root cause of all evils in the Indian society.

To act as a pressure group on saffron organizations (mostly referred as Sangh Parivar by the mainstream Indian media) who sometimes unfortunately indulge in disagreeable deeds and acts in the name of Hindu religion and culture.

To actively work towards betterment of the Hindu society in particular and Indian society in general, by fighting vices like casteism, crime and corruption and lending a helping hand in humanitarian operations.

Hindus must be aware that there is a lobby of Hindu haters strongly active in Indian politics and society. We have to defend ourselves against these elements without becoming paranoid or prisoners or Sangh Parivar.

People at “The SHIELD” are not allergic to Sangh Parivar, in fact we acknowledge their vital contribution in upholding, promoting and securing Hindu interests, and that’s why only we can act as a pressure group.

We want to send across a strong message to the saffron organizations – we are not amused by everything you do.

And we want to send across a stern warning to the Hindu haters and sickulars – don’t push us too far.

Let’s unite and act as a SHIELD to protect our self-respect and self-esteem, something that has been under constant attack but has survived for centuries. But we can’t just bloat under the fact that if it has survived all kinds of attacks, it will survive even in future. Hindusim is all about Karma philosophy, and we have to act.

Let’s spread the word, discuss issues, try to meet in different cities in person, and let the movement start.
