About Us

Welcome to The SHIELD – The Self-respecting Hindus' Initiative for Equality and Liberty with Dignity – the voice of new age Hinduism.

This movement/campaign/initiative would not be led by one group or any Sangh Parivar organization. It will be championed by you – an ordinary self-respecting Hindu.

Let’s act as a SHIELD against people attacking Hinduism and blaming it for everything wrong that goes around in our society.

Let’s act as a SHIELD against people like Sri Ram Sene, who have hijacked name of Hindu culture to do get some free publicity.

Let’s act as a SHIELD against vices that truly infect Hindu society such as casteism, gender inequality, lack of brotherhood, and ignorance about richness of Hindu culture.

Let’s also act as a SHIELD against other vices that infect our society such as corruption and crime, because if we don’t do that, the sickulars will blame even those on Hinduism!

Let’s unite and act as a SHIELD to protect our self-respect and self-esteem, something that has been under constant attack but has survived for centuries. But we can’t just bloat under the fact that if it has survived all kinds of attacks, it will survive even in future. Hindusim is all about Karma philosophy, and we have to act.

Let’s spread the word, discuss issues, try to meet in different cities in person, and let the movement start.

Mutalik gets 25 women lawyers to file 'chaddi' case

Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Mutalik has got a team of 25 women advocates to
file defamation cases against those who sent pink chaddis to the Sene to
protest its opposition to Valentine's Day. The lawyers, led by Meenakshi
Kulkarni, have been drawn from across the state.
Speaking to DNA, Mutalik claimed more than 100 women lawyers had come
forward to help the Sene file the suit, but the team had to be pruned to 25.
The suit will mention the addresses of those involved in the anti-Sene
campaign. "The number of women willing to support us shows our popularity
among women and exposes the charge that we are anti-woman,"he said. He added
his group advocates gender equality, and the "fight for women's honour is
another step towards keeping that equality."

Muthalik to sue 'pink chaddi' campaigners

KARNATAKA: Irked by 'pink chaddi' campaign against him following his
threat to disrupt Valentine's Day celebrations, Sri Ram Sene leader
    Pramod

Muthalik has said he would soon sue the rights activists behind it.

Terming the action of protesters as a "perverted act", Muthalik told
reporters here that a 25-member advocates team comprising women has
been formed to file defamation cases against the senders of "panties
    parcel".

Rights activists across the country had despatched "pink chaddi"
consignments addressed to Muthalik at his Hubli headquarters on
February 14, when the right wing Sene leader was cooling his heels in
a Gulbarga jail following his arrest.

In all the Sene chief received 1,500 pink panties.

Muthalik claimed that the outfit's tirade against pub culture and
Valentine's Day has brought it into focus.

Demands have been to open Sene's branches outside Karnataka, he said.

Muthalik, whose men by attacking women at a Mangalore pub on January
24 had sparked nationwide protests, said on Saturday that the Sene
would not take law into its hands and peacefully protest against pub
    culture.

Muthalik also said he would write to the state government to take
    action against illegal pubs.

Hitting out at the state government for filing criminal cases against
him in connection with the "pub attack", he said, "Out of the 54 cases
filed against me, courts have acquitted me in 41 cases. I will be
acquitted in the remaining cases also".

After facing heat on pub attack issue and the threats to disrupt
Valentine's Day, the Sene has now set its eyes on 'Datta Peeta' in
Bababudanagiri shrine in Chikmagalur district where Hindus and Muslims
    worship.

Muthalik said an executive meeting of the Sene, scheduled at Belgaum
today, would set a date for "karseva" at Datta Peeta, where Sangh
Parivar outfits have been demanding pooja rights to Hindus.

Various issues including the Sene strategy towards pub culture would
    be decided, he said.
