Manufacturing news by sickular media

It’s no secret that Indian media is overzealous to prove itself secular, and goes overboard in reporting news that could show Hindu organizations in bad light. Not only that, they work overtime to show other organizations in good light.
Such ‘twists’ on stories are too common and an average Hindu is dished out such doctored news reports on a regular basis, and he/she is forced to believe that Hindu organizations are all gundas and criminals, while Muslims and Christians are helpless angels.
At this time, let me repeat that there are indeed helpless angels who are Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Atheist, etc. And there are criminal who are Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Atheist, etc. but when will our media learn it?
Indian secular media is on a mission to bolster stereotype against Hinduism. An unfortunate and criminal incident like rape of a woman belonging to a dalit caste is highlited as “Dalit woman raped by upper caste men”. Why don’t they write “Innocent Indian killed by terrorist Muslim”?
A rape in itself is a crime, and I demand capital punishment for rapists, whether the rapist is an upper caste man or anyone, I don't care. Also why should only rape by an upper caste man make news? If a dalit man rapes a dalit woman, that should not make news? But when will our media learn?
I’d share another example of media twisting a story. In January this year, all leading media houses carried a news – “temple purified by Brahmins after dalit minister visit”. The incident happened in Orissa.
You know the truth? The temple indeed was purified, but it was a regular purification ceremony that was always performed in that temple!
Do we all not clean our houses every day? Say each day we broom our house at 10 AM. One day at 9 AM one of our dalit friends comes to visit us. He leaves by 10 AM, and after seeing off our dalit friend, we take broom and clean our house. And viola! The media will say – “upper caste man cleans his house after dalit friend’s visit!”
For a complete analysis of this particular incident, visit this link.
There is no denying the fact that there are morons, idiots, and criminals who still treat so-called dalits as untouchables. They have to be educated about true essence of Hinduism. But media wants to eradicate that very essence of Hinduism by their doctored reports.
The sickular elements in the media use their own imagination and prejudices against Hinduism and manufacture false news. Those who are not so shameless, use words like ‘allegedly’ ‘reportedly’ ‘believed to be’ ‘suspected’ etc. and blame Hindu organizations for crimes they never committed.
We at ‘The SHIELD’ must speak up and not let the sickulars in media hijack Hinduism.

  1. I agree with this...Media in india is at its worst...

I will give you an example of resent indcident about the media double standards...

In mangalore Ashwini hanged herself and it was reported in the media that she hanged beacuse of the humiliation by the bajrangdal etc etc...

but when her fatehr was interviewed he told in front of the camera that she hanged beacuse she was molested by a guy called Saleem. Even police had filed an FIR in the name of Saleem.

The media guys infront of the camera repeatedly tried to change the words of the father itself by again and again asking the humilation question...The father blatent;ly ignored and again said that it was the molestation of saleem that led to her daughters death....

In the times of india news paper it was a headlines saying the same thing...

I was really shcoked to the core that how media and can chage according to their needs...

Media (NDTC, CNN-IBN and Times of india) all suck to teh core....

  3. The days had gone when media work for etichs, today thier aim is just to increse the viewership. The bias news not only for religion , it is also men vs women. The interantional council shown thier concern, that today media is always try to misuse the issue of minority and weekar sections for thier own benifit, in result more and more violence and crime in the society.
Still there are some good people, but they are outnumbered and to stop such bised we have to blog and expose them.
We are doing the same last 3 years and today even seen some positive a article here for your reference, though i do not agree, the media had gorwn up, may be they need to review thier own , otherwise, for misuse the freedon they had given will be stopped very soon.

Something strange happened this week. There was a story that was reported in most newspapers: An MBA student apparently made a ‘striptease MMS’ for her boyfriend who then forwarded it to several of her friends and acquaintances, creating a major scandal.

Most viewers (including me) would have thought quite cynically (and not without reason) that this was the perfect story for news channels to flog on primetime. They could pixelate the girl’s face and show the MMS again and again, with appropriately sensationalist reportage (“Aur yeh ladki ki zindagi barbaad ho gayi… uske boyfriend ne us ko badnaam karne ki koshish ki…” etc etc).

But guess what? None of the main news channels (Hindi as well as English) showed the clip. They did not even report the story.

Frankly, this is the best news I’ve heard about the electronic media in a long time.

So have news channels finally grown up? Have they seen the light and realised that there is life beyond sansanikhez khulasas and controversial clips of kisses/ violence/ whatever (which are usually played so often that they become like wallpaper?)

Well, they may not have yet reached the stage where they’re polishing their halos, but it’s a damn good start.

After 26/11, the electronic media got together and agreed on a self-regulatory mechanism.

They have reportedly agreed that whenever there is a controversial clip or statement, all the editors of the channels will get together and take a (hopefully) sensitive, mature decision on the matter.

That’s how news channels decided not to show the MMS clip or report the story. And no one — bar one insignificant channel — has reneged.

Usually, when confronted with criticism about sensationalist coverage, most news channels (all television channels for that matter) place the blame on cutthroat competition and the need to increase ratings.

But if everybody respects a collective decision, they’re all on the same level playing field.

Secondly, apparently, news channels have also decided not to report or show any vandalism that’s being done specifically for the camera (as in the goondas inform the TV channels to arrive at so-and-so place and begin their goondagardi only when the cameras have been switched on).

If this is true, then that’s the next best news I’ve heard in a long time.

I wish entertainment channels would take a leaf out of these attempts at self-regulation and do a bit of soul-searching of their own.

If news channels were guilty of sensationalising and trivialising the news, the entertainment channels are guilty of being thoroughly regressive and backward in their choice of serials. Suffering women, constantly at the receiving end of endless injustice, are the mainstay of most soaps. NDTV Imagine’s two new serials (Jyoti and Dehleez) belong to the same stock.

In Jyoti, poor noble Jyoti slaves away to support her family (how she also manages to have Pantene-type hair and just-right foundation and lipstick I don’t know). But little does she know (sob, sob) that the money she gives her brother for coaching classes is not being used for coaching classes at all. (Instead, he’s busy hanging around playing cards with a bunch of loafers).

Poor noble Jyoti also has a beau who wants her to tell her family about him. She tries but she should know better — her family will never let go of the golden goose. Her suitor will wait and wait for her while she keeps slaving away and slaving away for her family — and we keep wanting to slash our wrists while watching the serial.

I don’t even want to start on what the other serial Dehleez is like. But the family in question seems very short of money though all the women drift around wearing so many necklaces and bangles and earrings they could be mistaken for jewellery shops if they went to any market.

    Ah well.
